How an Elopement Works

  1. Pick your date and reserve

    A $300 deposit holds your date and applies toward the $850 total. We confirm availability within 24 hours.

  2. Get your Nevada marriage license

    The Clark County Clerk's Office in Las Vegas issues licenses the same day — no waiting period, no blood test. Both of you appear in person with photo ID. We send full instructions when you book.

  3. Drive into Eldorado Canyon

    About 45 miles — south on US-95, then east on Highway 165 into Nelson. Free parking on site. Plan for roughly 3.5 hours from the Strip, round trip.

  4. Say your vows

    Your officiant leads the ceremony — civil or religious, with your own vows if you like. Your witness is already there. Time it for the golden hour and the canyon turns copper and gold.

  5. Walk the town for photos

    Your photographer captures you among the storefronts, the old cars and the canyon walls. Edited, high-resolution images arrive by download link within days — yours to keep forever.

How much does it cost to elope at Nelson Ghost Town?

The "Just Us" Elopement is $850 flat. It covers the ceremony, a licensed officiant who files your certificate with Clark County, professional photography, personalized vows, a witness at no extra charge, a sunset ceremony option and free date changes. Flowers are not included in the $850 package but may be added on request.

Is it really just the two of us?

Yes. The elopement package is designed for the couple only. We provide the officiant and a witness, so there is no need to bring anyone. If you would like a small group, the Intimate Gathering accommodates up to 20 guests.

Do we need a witness?

Nevada requires one witness for the marriage to be legal. A witness is included with the elopement at no extra charge, so you do not need to bring one.

Is an elopement here legally binding?

Yes. You will need a Nevada marriage license, which the Clark County Clerk's Office in Las Vegas issues the same day with no waiting period. Our licensed officiant performs the ceremony and files the signed certificate with Clark County.

How long does an elopement take?

Plan for roughly 3.5 hours total from Las Vegas — that includes the drive out, picking up your marriage license if you have not already, the ceremony, and photography through the ghost town afterward.

Can we add flowers to the elopement?

Yes. A desert-inspired bouquet and boutonniere can be added to the $850 elopement on request. Flowers are included at no extra cost in the Intimate Gathering and Grand Celebration packages.

When is the best time to elope at Nelson Ghost Town?

Eldorado Canyon has over 300 days of sunshine a year. The golden hour before sunset is the most dramatic time to elope. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons and book quickly; summer ceremonies are scheduled early or late in the day.
