A Canyon Carved
by History

Eldorado Canyon is one of Nevada's oldest mining districts. Prospectors worked these walls from the 1860s — the Techatticup Mine among the richest gold and silver strikes in the southern part of the state — and the town of Nelson grew up along the canyon floor to serve them.

What remains is Nelson Ghost Town: weathered timber storefronts, rusted mining equipment, vintage trucks, and a small chapel, all held between sheer canyon walls that glow copper and gold as the sun drops. The canyon runs east toward the Colorado River, and the light in the last hour before sunset is unlike anywhere else in the Southwest.

Today that backdrop has hosted more than 1,900 weddings. It is dramatic, private, and only 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.
